We are looking for a motivated and passionate Commis Chef to join the kitchen team at Gucci Osteria da Massimo Bottura in Tokyo.
The Commis Chef will support the kitchen brigade in daily operations, contributing to the preparation of high-quality dishes while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, and teamwork in a fast-paced fine dining environment.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with daily kitchen operations including food preparation, cooking, plating, and cleaning.
Support senior chefs in preparing and executing dishes according to the restaurant’s standards.
Maintain high levels of organization, hygiene, and food safety in all work areas.
Contribute to the preparation of ingredients and mise en place to ensure smooth service.
Support additional kitchen tasks depending on experience and career development within the team.
Requirements
Minimum 2 years of experience in Italian or French cuisine.
Experience with fish and meat preparation, butchery, and sauce preparation is considered a plus.
Experience preparing staff meals is appreciated.
Basic communication skills in Italian or English (daily conversational level preferred).
Strong passion for gastronomy, teamwork, and professional growth in a high-level kitchen environment.
