Francescana at Maria Luigia is looking for a passionate and enthusiastic Sommelier to join our team.
We are seeking a friendly and professional individual who can guide our guests through their culinary experience with a deep knowledge of our menu, wine list, and the local territory.
Responsibilities:
Update and maintain our wine list.
Provide wine pairing recommendations.
Manage weekly wine deliveries (loading and unloading).
Conduct periodic inventory.
Oversee the purchase and sale of spirits featured on the trolley.
Ensure the cellar is fully stocked at all times.
Inform guests about the range of available wines.
Collaborate closely with the dining room staff during dinner service.
Manage the wine cellar and maintain communication with suppliers and producers.
Requirements:
Excellent knowledge of both English and Italian; a third language is a plus.
Sommelier certification or a degree in hospitality is a plus.
At least one year of experience as a sommelier or in a hospitality role.
Strong knowledge of wines—local and international—and of their regions of origin.
Solid understanding of beverage cost control and cellar management.
Availability to work on weekends.
Strong communication skills.
Enthusiastic, reliable, and flexible.
Enjoys interacting with people.
Good organizational skills.
