Role Mission
The Lead Line Cook will support the Head Chef, Executive Sous Chef, Sous Chef, Pastry Chef in all kitchen operations and preparations.
Reports to (solid line): Sous Chef
Reports to (dotted line): Restaurant Director
Key Accountabilities
- Prepares meal ingredients that should be frequently available (vegetables, spices, etc.);
- Prepares menus in collaboration with the team;
- Ensures an accurate and organized cooking stations supply inventory;
- Supports the team with ensuring that dish presentations meet the set standards;
- Provides feedback on new ways to plate and present dishes;
- Develop and shares ideas to increase efficiency and optimization of cooking processes with attention to speed and quality;
- Ensures compliance with food safety standards and regulations;
- Supports the management team with creating a positive and united work environment amongst all staff.
Job Requirements
- At least one year of experience in the hospitality industry within the Kitchen area;
- Ability to speak fluent English;
- Professional appearance and curate self-grooming;
- Good interpersonal and organizational skills;
- Team-working skills;
- Ability to analyze information, identify business priorities, and problem solve;
- Standard knowledge of the main kitchen operating procedures;
- Knowledge of current basic regulations and of the main safety standards;
- Using kitchen machinery & food preservation techniques;
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs which included, evenings, weekends and holidays;
- Certification of Food Handlers License.
